I have found that this recent spell of cold, wet and windy weather has caused my skin to dry out particularly on my cheeks. Here is my dry skin saving routine using Jennifer Young’s Defiant Beauty skincare range. This range is designed specifically for dry, sore, sensitive and itchy skin. 10% of all online sales of this Defiant Beauty Range Jennifer Young kindly donates to Fresh Hair Wig and Well Being salon at the UHNS.
• Cleanse. Cleanse twice a day using Jennifer Young’s Defiant Beauty Cleansing Balm, £15. This balm moisturises whilst cleansing the skin and removing any make-up or dirt from the day. Massage a pea sized amount of the balm into your skin and remove with either a flannel or damp cotton pads. Cleanse twice if using this balm to remove make-up. It is a fragrance free balm that is made of a blend of vegetable oils including shea butter and calendula.
• Exfoliate. Exfoliating your skin gets rid of the dry dead skin cells which feel rough and make skin look dull and lifeless. Jennifer Young’s Defiant Beauty Exfoliating sponge, £7 is perfect as it’s gentle so you can use it every day. After massaging the cleansing balm onto skin use the sponge to gently exfoliate your face using upward circular movements.
• Moisturise. After removing the cleansing balm with a flannel or cotton pads you want to moisturise the skin. I use Jennifer Young’s Defiant Beauty Serum, £22.50. A serum is more concentrated than a moisturiser so a small amount works wonders to nourish and moisturise your skin.
• Face Mask. As my skin is particularly dry I use a moisturising face mask once a week, preferably whilst having a soak in the bath! My favourite product for this is Jennifer Young’s Smooth Skin Balm, £15. Apply all over your face or just to the particularly dry patches and let it soak in. This balm contains St John's Wort and Calendula which having soothing properties, great for tired, dry and stressed out skin. It also smells divine!
Let me know what you think of these products and any of the rest of the Defiant Beauty Range.
